The Saudi Student Club (SSC) cordially invites you to its annual cultural event, entitled "Saudi Open House: Saudi Arabian culture and traditions between facts and fictions". The event will take place on Thursday, April 23, 2009, from 5:00 to 9:00 PM, in the Hilton Garden Inn, located in 245 North College Ave., Bloomington, Indiana 47404. We would like also to extend this invitation to you and your family. Thank you very much and it would be our honor to have you present.
The "Saudi Open House" event aimed at promoting cultural understanding and awareness of Saudi Arabia, its people, its culture and its tradition, as well as allowing for cultural exchange with not only the American community, but also with other international communities, which fits nicely with the core objective of the SSC. The event will provide the guests with an opportunity to taste the infamous Arabian coffee, and authentic Arabian cuisine and desserts from various regions within Saudi Arabia, as well as enjoy seeing different cultural displays and booths, representing various aspects of the kingdom.
As the number of the Saudi students is considered as the 5th largest international group on-campus, living with different communities, we are eager to appreciate the multitude of cultures that exist in our world today, while eliminating the stereotypes and false biases that pollute society.
The Saudi Open House Agenda:
- 5:00 to 6:00 PM: Cultural and Artistic Display Tour
- 6:00 to 6:10 PM: Guest Welcome
- 6:10 to 6:30 PM: Special Keynotes and Remarks
